Average on compacts we tested was about 2.5 seconds. It is possible to turn off the welcome screen and shave off a lot of time. We managed to get it down to around 2.8 seconds. In the burst test, we managed to record eight images in ten seconds, giving an average of 0.8fps (frames per second). The first three frames at 1.5fps run around but then slowed down. Processing images to a memory card fast enough because the camera is ready to shoot again within three seconds.
